Setup 1.0

This is my Desk Setup (November 2016). Starting on the 1st of December, I will rebuild it.

So here is what it will have looked like.

Current Hardware

Acer Aspire V5-573G

A very thin 15.6" Laptop with a dedicated Graphics Card. I use it for University and as my home PC (also gaming). I payed <700 € three years ago, but now I get problems, when I want to edit videos or when I want to play on HD settings.

KRK Rokit 5

Getting a good Sound System is very important. I got these KRK speakers for about 10 years now. Sure, they weren't cheap, but they have a great sound and won't get replaced anytime soon.

Acer Predator G246HLF

24" TN-Display with short reaction times. Unfortunately the colors are not very precise. This monitor will do just fine as second screen :)

Razer BlackShark

Great Sound, comfortable for the ears. Since I really like the design, these just fit perfect for my setup.

Logitech Proteus G502

This mouse is not the newest on the market, but definitely my favorite. It has its own software, fits perfectly into my hand and has an insanely fun mouse wheel.

I also have a Razer Naga an ergonomic Anker Mouse and a Microsoft Designer Mouse (Black Friday Deals ftw).

"Mechanical" Keyboard

I once bought myself a budget mechanical-like keyboard. It's definitely better than normal keyboards, but its weird "RGB" lighting and unconventional Key Layout drives me crazy.

This Black Friday, I ordered a real mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches.

Satechi Headphone Stand

This aluminum Stand looks amazing, works as USB 3.0 Hub and even has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. It comes with a premium price tag, but I am very happy, that I got it.

DIY Monitor Stand

I use it to hide cables and add some height to my monitor. This is a very important part of my setup. After I only found ugly or expensive stands on the internet, I decided to build it myself. It cost me less than 5 € and was insanely easy to build (board, 2x bars, 6x angle brackets and screws). The trick is to drill a hole in the top, to let the Monitor Cables disappear.

Razer Goliathus

This mousepad is great. I have it about 10 years now. It's easy to clean and very durable.

Peripherals

I am using an Aukey USB Hub, Cable Sleeves and a Bluelounge CableBox to hide Cables on the floor. My Samsung S6 sits on a selfmade stand and gets charged/connected via magnetic cable.

The often overseen

I think, that the importance of a comfortable Chair, multifunctional Table and the Stuff that adds personality to one's setup is very often underestimated. I will definitely upgrade my "Standard" Business Chair, School Table and random One Piece Posters.
